Extensive co-operation with stakeholders continued
During the year, we arranged a large number of different events in co-operation with our partner organisations. We also participated in professional events, providing information about our services.
The PRH played host to a number of visitors from agencies administering intellectual property rights, including António Campinos, President of the European Patent Office (EPO), and Christian Archambeau, Executive Director of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Xu Cong, Deputy Director of the patent department at the Chinese IP office (CNIPA), and Francis Gurry, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), also visited the PRH during the year.
In connection with Director General Gurry’s visit, we arranged a seminar on topical issues concerning intellectual property rights and artificial intelligence.
PRH took part in Digitalism Challenge 2019 hackathon
The PRH co-operated with Aalto University and Accenture in the organisation of the Digitalism Challenge 2019 course. Nearly 100 Aalto University students took part in the event and they were divided into teams tackling challenges faced by food sector operators.
The focus at the
event was on the Nordic Smart Government (NSG) project pursued by the
business registers of the Nordic countries, which promotes the
automation and use of financial information between companies and in the
flow of data from companies to the authorities.
The task of the
teams was to find solutions that ease the administrative burden of small
companies and make use of real-time and machine-readable financial
data.
